About Us.

We are Gary and Jo, an ordinary couple from the UK who retired at 50.

After spending all our working lives in a northern UK town – Gainsborough – Gary hit 50 first and retired in 2019.

Within a week of him retiring we sold our family home and moved to London.

Jo spent the next year working in London whilst Gary relaxed, explored London and settled in to retirement.

Whilst in London we experienced the pandemic lockdown and in late 2020 Jo also retired.

We then decided to leave London and head for the sun.

Within a week of Jo retiring we had put all our worldly goods in to storage and flew off to Malta, a Mediterranean island, and began our joint retirement hopping from one Airbnb to another.

We now live in Gozo, a small Maltese island.

We aim to show you how we retired early, what we enjoy, and some of the mistakes we made.

We hope to learn from others how to live a happy and fulfilling lifestyle and want to share some of these ideas on this website.

Retirement to us is a blank page on which we can write our next adventures as we age.
